We realize that it is not always practical to bring a
heavy piece of furniture into our shop for a minor repair or a general cleaning. Therefore, we have
mobile units which allow our leather technicians to solve many problems or offer consultation services
in your home or office. For example, our technicians can often repair minor damage to your leather,
re-sew unraveled stitching, resolve unsightly stains, remove ink, or simply evaluate your leather
furniture to determine what can be done to restore its original beauty. In almost all cases, we can
clean leather furniture on-site. Our fee structure for the on-site work reflects the added cost of our
trip to you. The equivalent work done in either of our shop facilities will always be less expensive
than on-site work.

Put simply, what can't be done on-site, can be done in our
shops, and it's less costly. Both our Hayward and Redding shops are fully equipped with the necessary
tooling, leather repair materials, and technicians to resolve practically any conceivable leather
problem on your furniture. Faded leather, cat claw damage to leather, body oil accumulation, and severe staining are just
a few examples.

Many of our clients are outside Northern California. There are multiple ways in which we have solved their leather repair
or restoration needs. Here are a few alternate solutions:

Leather Furniture Cleaning - Household soiling and staining detracts from the beauty of your
leather furniture. If your leather has a surface finish, we can usually affect dramatic cleaning results
(click on the "leather care" button on the left side of your screen to help you determine your leather type). We can also
generally improve the aesthetics of soiled suede and nubuck leathers, as well. To resolve issues
such as sun-fading, dye transfer (from fabrics or printed materials), body oil accumulation, or finish
failure requires leather restoration and color application, the next step beyond a simple cleaning. All
cleanings except suede or nubuck include the application of a conditioner that will help maintain the
moisture content of your leather. If you have a finished leather, and want to tackle the project yourself, we have
products available for you to use. For more details,

Leather Furniture Repair - Experience makes the difference. Over the past 15 years, we have
successfully completed thousands of repairs to damaged leather furniture. Cuts, rips, burns, scrapes,
scratches, ink, stitching problems, etc. are all repairable by our expert technicians. We do not use vinyl fillers or finishes,
and our leather repairs
are meant to be permanent solutions,
not quick fixes. And, our color-matching skills are unparalleled. So, most repairs are invisible,
and all repairs are a dramatic improvement over the existing damage, and are structurally sound.
The results are dependent on the severity of the damage and the integrity of the leather. Because we
have the finest repair materials, applied by experienced, skilled technicians, the results are the best
they can be. For those who wish to make repairs themselves, we offer do-it-yourself kits
to accomplish that goal.

Stain Protection for Leather - A certain class of aniline dyed leather
is prone to staining. This leather is classified as unfinished leather, which means there is
little or no resin coating applied to the leather's surface. The hides used are typically the best available,
and consequently the most expensive. The tanning process and aniline dyes accentuate the hide's natural
beauty, creating leather with a soft, supple feel, and rich coloring. To protect this type of leather, we
have developed a clear topical treatment that provides moisture hold-out, allowing you the opportunity
to get a cloth and blot up an accidental spill before it transfers into the leather. This process applies
to unfinished or lightly finished leathers. We can accomplish a similar goal using a different moisture
hold-out approach for suede and nubuck leathers. If you're not sure what type of leather you have, refer
to our leather care page for assistance.

Finish Applications and Refinishing - For pieces that need full restoration
(sun-faded, ph damaged, extensive finish failure, or dye-transfer, for example), we can offer finish
applications that will restore the furniture to like-new condition, often at a cost far less than that
of replacement. For example, full restoration to original color of a typical three-seat sofa is around
$1000. The fee will vary based upon the extent of service required (preparation issues, body oil extraction,
leather replacement, etc.). We can tailor our services to meet your requirements, and your budget. You
can view some examples here. Call or e-mail us.
We can review the specifics of your furniture, and come up with options for restoration.

Leather Color Change - We are often called upon to change the color
of leather furniture. This is one of our unique specialties. If you have a faded medium brown piece, and
desire a rich, hunter green, we can do it. We can create the color of your choice on your existing leather
that reflects your changing decor or preference. There are specific considerations in a color change project.
Call (800) 541-5982, or e-mail us so we can review the details with you
or your designer.
Partial Leather Replacement - Sometimes, due to age or damage, certain
panels or sections of your leather furniture require replacement. This would be a difficult-to-impossible
task, were it not for our custom color-matching skills. We can take a piece of leather, match it to your
existing color, and install it, thus saving the cost of replacing the furniture.
Leather Upholstery - Our skilled craftsmen can upholster your furniture
in leather. If the piece is covered in leather that is simply worn-out, then we can give it a whole new
life through re-upholstery. Perhaps it's cloth, and you want to upholster it in leather. We have the skills
and materials that can accomplish your goal. If the color you are looking for is not available, then we
can custom color the leather hides for your specific needs.
Classic, High-end, and Custom Leather Auto Interiors - For the classic car,
preservation of the original leather may be the primary aim. While we can re-upholster your interior with
new leather, our first priority (if possible) is to save and preserve the original leather. If the integrity
of the existing leather is still sound, our repair and coloring techniques allow us to bring back the leather's
original look. If you need to repair damage prior to selling your car, or taking it to show, or even if you're
looking for some outrageous inset color to set your car apart, we can help. For those who want to do it themselves,
we can provide you with the tools and chemistry you
need.
Leather Desks, Table-tops, Walls, etc. - Our craftsmen have repaired, re-colored,
and replaced leather on a wide variety of pieces where the leather is affixed to a hard substrate, like
a desk-top. We have worked with cabinet makers, furniture designers, and furniture builders in installing
custom-colored leather panels in new pieces. If gold accent is required, then we're the craftsmen to see.
Leather flooring, leather covered doors, whatever the application, we have the expertise to solve your
problem, and assist you in creating the look you want to achieve.
Unique Leather Applications - Do you have a unique project that requires
the crafting and coloring of leather? Talk to us about your project. Over the years we have worked
with many designers and architects, sharing our unique expertise and deep application experience with
leather as a medium. Whether creating colored imagery on leather, fashioning specialized leather furniture
strapping, or design and small-run manufacturing of unique leather items, we have the experience and skill to help you
translate your vision to reality. Call or e-mail us today.
