Another price increase begins first part of February 2023
You all are seeing it everywhere, and so are we. Raw material costs, shipping, utilities, rent, services, fuel, and everything else. It's raise prices, or ultimately fold. We put it off as long as we could this time, like every time before, but here we are. We regret it, and wish it wasn't necessary...

Slight changes to the color coating line
Most of you probably know that supply-chain issues have hit us just as much as anyone else in the past couple of years. I have had to drop a vendor that I've been hooked into for almost 20 years in search of more flexible and reliable sources. Things seem to have stabilized, and I'm actually happier...

PR-2 is back for a limited run
I've located a limited amount of the PR-2 Finished Leather Primer resin. I'll be offering it in 8, 16, and 32oz sizes, as soon as I get a chance to add it to the website. It will depend on sales rates, but I should be able to stock it for the next year or so. No guarantees, and I don't think availab...

Re: Texturing
Welcome to the forum. I can only offer my experience with re-graining repairs. I agree that you have to have lungs of steel to use a mouth atomizer, though some people swear by them. Not me. I'm also not a fan of hot-graining, as the only time I've gotten a decent grain transfer using a grain mat wa...

Re: Changes to the PR-1 usage recommendation
Another update for techs in CA, or in other places that can't get denatured alcohol anymore. I've tested PR-1 with Isopropyl Alcohol 99% and 91%. While they both swell the resin somewhat (thicken to near a gel), it doesn't seem to affect application at all, and I don't see evidence of it leaving tho...

Body oil accumulation (and removal) from leather explained
If you’ve been a tech for any length of time, you’ve seen it. On furniture head- or arm-rests, on steering wheels, on hand-bag handles, on leather jacket collars, oil accumulation is apparent wherever skin comes in repeated contact over time with leather upholstery. This is true of both people, as w...

COVID-19 and our maintenance product line
Our cleaner, conditioner, and protector products all have an anti-microbial ingredient added to them. On the product label indicating what the anti-microbial is effective against, there is a rather large list, including Hep B and C, HIV, Staph, SARS, etc. This list includes the human coronavirus, bu...

Re: Changes to the PR-1 usage recommendation
Here's an update to the PR-1 usage. Our most recent version of PR-1 has changed yet again. Happily, the newest version is now interacting quite well with denatured alcohol again. Yay! That's not much help to techs in CA, where it's much harder to get DA now, but for the rest of you, DA is once again...
