SG-4 and ADV Cleaner not going to be green anymore

So, when SG-4 and our cleaner were originally formulated, we had a pre-mixed neutral cleaner that was the component causing the blend to be the light green color that we all know. For about 10 years now, I haven't used that pre-mix, just the active ingredient. But, in the interest of consistency, I'...

Re: Technician discount

We are going to suspend the blanket 10% discount in favor of a more diversified incentive system. Despite our recent price increase, raw material costs continue to rise, so we will be much more targeted in our discounts. We will high-light products over certain time-periods, and offer discounts, and...

Re: Calf leather (kid glove )

The issue with applying color to calf or kid is the open pore structure like you described. It's easy to turn it from that soft, buttery flex to a shower curtain by applying too much resin. I usually spray on light coats of primer first to increase the hold-out before applying any color. Wiping on i...

New product catalog

I've uploaded our new product catalog to the website. This replaces the old catalog, and reflects all the pricing changes on both the consumer and professional products pages on the site. There are some new line items, and some others have been deleted. If you have questions about any products that ...

Hard plastics, vinyl, and water-based systems

I’ve talked with a couple of people this week about applying our products to hard plastics, or vinyl. For those of you who deal primarily with automobile interiors, this is a recurring issue. Based on my own experiences, as well as feedback from other techs, I’m confident that our products work just...

Re: Comprehensive Guide to Leather Repair and Restoration

This document is as exhaustive as you can get on this particular subject. Kevin spent this entire last summer revising and expanding, and this new edition is still evolving. Anyone who purchases the Guide will be eligible for all future editions, as well. I'm not big on selling, but I know how much ...

Changes to the PR-1 usage recommendation

The original post on this topic was lost in our recent web-hosting migration. Since the original posting, I've had a fair amount of time to test our new recommended carrier for the PR-1 resin, and the results (at least for me) are pretty conclusive. Once upon a time, our PR-1 resin was very friendly...

Leather hand stitching video tutorial

Kevin recently uploaded a hand-stitching video tutorial to his YouTube channel. We filmed it a few years back, but it's a pretty good visual aid if you struggle or are unfamiliar with hand-stitching open seams closed. The technique shown is the double-needle blind stitch. I figured posting the link ...

Technician discount

Many of you know about the discount that we offer to technicians, but I figured I would document it here so that the information would be available to those who might not know. Currently, if you place an order of $500 or above, there is an automatic 10% savings. This applies to product only, not ser...
